Moms Demand Action Laconia Walk and Vigil

Mass shootings with assault style weapons have been in the news every day this year. Join Moms Against Action on Saturday, May 13th at 11am for a walk from City Hall around downtown to demonstrate our demand for reinstating the assault weapons ban on Saturday, May 13. We’ll help educate folks in our community about how they can take action now and we will have a vigil at the end of the walk to honor those impacted by gun violence.

Belknap County GOP Endorses Trump

Four Belknap County Representatives were among a group of New Hampshire GOP State Reps who endorsed former President Trump at his rally in Manchester on April 28th. Moments before the rally, Trump embraced a woman who was charged and served time for the January 6 insurrection, calling her “terrific”. The Belknap Representatives endorsing Trump are Tom Ploszaj (District 1, Center Harbor/New Hampton)Juliette Harvey-Bolia (District 3, Sanbornton, Tilton) Belknap County Delegation Chair Harry Bean (District 6, Gilford, Gilmanton, Laconia Ward 2) Paul Terry (District 7, Alton/Barnstead). Let that sink in. Our Representatives are endorsing an insurrectionist.

Tri-Town Democrats Monthly Meeting

The Tri-Town Democrats of Barnstead, Gilmanton, and Alton welcome Caitlin Rollo as the be guest at its Monday, April 3, meeting at the Pearson Road Community Center. The gathering will begin with light refreshments and social time at 6:15 p.m., with the meeting to start at 6:30 p.m.

Caitlin Rollo is a well-known community activist and labor organizer who has spent years working to better the lives of others. She began early breaking gender barriers when she played competitive baseball before high school, and then became the youngest female elected official in the country when she was elected a NH Representative during her college years at UNH.

Rollo will share her expertise in grassroots organizing, social media strategy, and coalition building with Tri-Town members and guests, conducting an interactive workshop with breakout groups. Participants will explore ways to effectuate change in our community and state and to improve outreach to others.
